This unaccompanied flute solo Umoja (Unity in Swahili), is a tribute to peoples globally, especially to those who face situations of much opposition and discord. Umoja is one of the seven symbols of Kwanzaa *, an African harvest festival tradition celebrated in various parts of West and Southeast Africa. The wonderful meaning of Umoja inspired me to write this music. Personally, unity and working together are beautiful concepts!
