This new, unusual and charming instrumental duo co-features beautiful selections of music for all kinds of holidays, other occasions and recitals. FluteStrings!'s public and private performances are enjoyed immensely by audiences large and small in venues including houses of worship, private homes, mansions and historic sites. This duo skillfully performs a broad variety of music which includes Baroque, Renaissance, traditional Japanese, ethnic (Native American-inspired, a tribute to Kwanzaa, other), Appalachian, pop and original music for one, two, three, and/or four instruments including mandolin, flute, violin and Native American flute.
Joyce Rasmussen Balint performs in and around New York on violin and mandolin, and has been performing as mandolin soloist with the Metropolitam Opera Orchestra for many years.
